Criminal defense / Memphis

Charged is not convicted.

Kwan & Lattimore is four criminal defense lawyers on Union Avenue, downtown. One of us takes your case from the first call to the last hearing, and answers to you the whole way.

What we defend

Four kinds of case, and nothing else.

No wills, no divorces. Criminal charges are the whole practice.

  1. A first arrest, a repeat charge, a crash with injuries. The license hearing and the criminal case run on separate clocks, and we watch both.

  2. Possession, intent to distribute, paraphernalia. Most of these cases turn on how the police found the drugs.

  3. Simple and aggravated assault, fights outside bars, and charges that started as an argument.

  4. Dismissed charges, old convictions that now qualify, records that keep turning up on background checks.

Sample matters

How cases like these have ended.

  • Dismissed

    DUI, first arrest

The video showed no traffic violation before the stop.

  • Not guilty

    Aggravated assault

Jury trial. A second witness put our client across the room.

  • Suppressed

    Drug possession

The search went past the warrant. Without the evidence, the case was dropped.

  • Expunged

    Old theft charge

A dismissed charge from years back, cleared from the public record.

Illustrative sample matters. Every case turns on its own facts, and past results don't guarantee a similar outcome.
